  • Calvisius Oscietra Classic caviar is from one of the most prized breeds of sturgeon in existence – the Russian Oscietra (also known as Ossetra, Osetra, Asetra). This ancient species was once near extinction in the wild but now flourishes in the Ticino Valley with the help of the Calvisius team. Here it thrives in the purest waters flowing from the Swiss Alps – a mix of spring water and snow melt. This purity is reflected in the excellent caviar these sturgeon produce, as it allows the natural characteristics of this wonderful substance to shine.

Calvisius Oscietra Classic caviar is characterized by a firm, large-grain egg which is typical of the breed. These little dark balloons pop gently and excite the taste buds with a rich, nutty, creamy flavor. One can detect buttery, ocean notes from this caviar and it will impress any guests with its exceptional quality and freshness. Due to the low salt (Malassol) the natural flavor and texture shines brightly and makes for insatiable demand for this product.

Chipped ice and a mother-of-pearl or horn spoon is all that is required to appreciate this exceptional sturgeon roe.
